“The family… is specifically characterized by love, which is the mind’s feeling of its own unity.”
G. W. F. Hegel
Welcome. This branch of the website is a setting for materials pertaining to my family history. It takes the name, and contains much of the same information, as my original Ancestry family-tree, Chase, Via, and Allied Families, which I first framed in February 2017. However, this format enables meditations on genealogy, heritage, culture, and history. It will also include profiles, organized by the Strauss–Howe scheme of generations, of ancestors on which I have anything valuable to contribute. To return to this page, click the image in the header; to return to the website home, click the footer.
I can personally testify to all of the information listed on this website, from nicknames to quotations to all manner of personal trivia; it is based either recorded testimonies of relevant witnesses to which I have personally been privy or concrete records from official or family sources. The initial purpose of publishing the genealogical information on this site was because it is largely original research or consultation that has not yet been published elsewhere. Amor Via and Pokousee are of particlar interest. To start navigating the list of persons, my great-grandparents, beginning with my father’s father’s father on the left and ending with my mother’s mother’s mother on the right, are as follows:
W. J. Via · Jewell Churchwell · Rafe Blankenship · Kitty Bell · Eugene Chase · Dorothy Earnest · Odie Forrester · Goldie Baldridge
For broader browsing, here are the pages by generation, going backwards in time:
G.I. (1901–1924) · Lost (1883–1900) · Missionary (1860–1882) · Progressive (1843–1859) · Gilded (1822–1842) · Transcendental (1792–1821) · Compromise (1767–1791) · Republican (1742–1766) · Liberty (1724–1741) · Awakening (1701–1723) · Enlightenment (1674–1700) · Glorious (1648–1673)
